Ingredients:
Cream Layer:
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 500 ml (about 2 cups) milk
- 1 box (200g) heavy cream or table cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon butter
Ganache Ingredients:
- 200 g (7 oz) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 box (200g) heavy cream or table cream
To Assemble:
- 2 packs of chocolate-flavored wafer cookies
- Melted white chocolate for decoration
Directions:
First, in a saucepan, add the sweetened condensed milk and cornstarch. Stir well until the starch is fully dissolved. Then, add the whole milk, heavy cream, and powdered milk, mixing everything together.
Next, place the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. After that, once it starts to boil and thicken, add the butter and continue stirring.
Then, let it cook for another 2 minutes over low heat. Right after, remove from heat and pour the cream into a glass baking dish.
Next, cover with plastic wrap, placing it directly against the surface of the cream to avoid forming a skin. Lastly, let it cool completely at room temperature.
To make the Ganache:
First, place the chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a bowl. Then, melt it using a double boiler or microwave, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between each.
Next, add the heavy cream and mix until smooth and glossy.
Set aside.
To assemble:
First, remove the plastic wrap from the cream in the glass baking dish. Then, create a layer of chocolate wafer cookies on top of the cream.
Next, pour all the ganache over the cookies, spreading it evenly. Right after, drizzle melted white chocolate in lines over the top.
Then, use a toothpick to drag through the lines and create swirl designs. Lastly, refrigerate for about 2 hours.
To finish, take it out of the fridge and enjoy this beautiful Easter dessert served in a glass dish.
