- 24 to 30 ladyfinger cookies
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- Chocolate shavings or grated chocolate, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until thick and pale yellow.
Add the softened mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and beat until smooth and creamy.
In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee or espresso with the coffee liqueur (if using).
