How to make Buckeye Balls

The perfect combination of creamy peanut butter, icing sugar and butter, topped with a generous layer of melted chocolate, results in little spheres of pure indulgence. Remembering that we will start by listing all the ingredients, so start by separating all the ingredients and then the complete preparation method.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons shortening

Directions

First start by lining a baking tray with waxed paper; set aside.

Then combine the icing sugar, peanut butter, butter and vanilla in a large bowl; mix with your hands to form a smooth, stiff dough. Now form into balls using 2 teaspoons of dough for each ball. Then place on the prepared tray and refrigerate until ready to cover with chocolate.

Then mix the chocolate chips and vegetable fat in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water. Now stir occasionally until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat.

Now take the chilled peanut butter balls out of the fridge.

Then insert a wooden toothpick into a ball and dip it into the melted chocolate until coated. Now place the balls back on the tray, chocolate side down, and remove the toothpick.

Then repeat step 5 to coat the remaining balls. Finally, refrigerate the coated balls until firm, about 30 minutes.
