Meal Prep:  Savory Corn Couscous Recipe

Learn how to prepare for afternoon snack or breakfast step-by-step recipes inspired by top online culinary schools. Whether you’re an aspiring chef or just love gourmet cooking at home, these professional recipe ideas are perfect for busy days and high-quality meals.

Recipe ingredients:

  • 1 cup (100 g / 3.5 oz) precooked corn flakes (corn couscous flour)
  • 1 cup (240 ml / 8 fl oz) water
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • ½ bell pepper, chopped

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the precooked corn flakes, water, and salt. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to hydrate.

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, tomato, and bell pepper, and sauté until they are soft and fragrant.

Add the hydrated corn mixture to the skillet. Stir everything together thoroughly, then cover the skillet.

Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes, or until the couscous becomes firm and holds together.

Adjust the salt to taste, and your easy and delicious savory couscous is ready to serve!

Recipe ingredients: 1 cup (120g / 4.2 oz) of all-purpose flour/wheat flour 1 egg 1 tablespoon (14g / 0.5 oz) of butter ½ cup (120ml / 4 oz) of milk Salt to taste 1 teaspoon (5g / 0.18 oz) of baking powder Filling Suggestions (to taste): Shredded chicken Cream cheese or soft requeijão Sliced cheese (You may also use ham, vegetables, or your favorite ingredients) Instructions: Prepare the batter: In a bowl, mix the egg, milk, and melted butter until well blended. Then add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until you have a smooth, thick batter. Grease a non-stick skillet, then pour in half the batter and spread it evenly with a spatula.
