Homemade chicken pie, get everyone together and surprise them with this delicious treat. Remembering that we will start by listing all the ingredients, so start by separating all the ingredients and then the complete preparation method.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
  • ½ cup sliced celery
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves – cubed
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup frozen green peas
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 ¾ cups chicken broth
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour

Directions

First, gather all the necessary ingredients and preheat the oven to 220 degrees C (425 degrees F).

Then, using a saucepan, mix together the carrots, chicken, peas and celery. Now add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to the boil. Let it boil for about 15 minutes, then remove from the heat and drain.

Next, while the chicken mixture is cooking, melt the butter in another frying pan over a medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are soft and translucent, which usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes. Now mix in the salt, flour, pepper and celery seeds, stirring well.

Then slowly incorporate the chicken stock and milk into the mixture, stirring continuously. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer until the mixture thickens, which usually takes 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.

then place the cooked vegetables and chicken on the base of the pie crust. Pour the hot liquid mixture over them. Cover the filling with the top crust, sealing the edges and cutting off any excess pastry. Make several small cuts in the top crust to allow the steam to escape.


Finally, bake in the preheated oven until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling, usually about 30 to 35 minutes. Then let the dish cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
