How to Make Fried Kibe with Ground Beef

This recipe is simple to make, has great yield, and uses few ingredients. We’ll start by listing all the ingredients, so make sure to gather everything before following the complete preparation steps.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams (17.6 ounces) of kibe wheat
  • 500 grams (17.6 ounces) of ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons of chopped cilantro and green onions
  • ½ cup of chopped mint
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Filling:

  • Provolone cheese cubes
  • Additional seasonings as desired

Instructions:

Place the kibe wheat in a bowl and soak it in water for about 2 hours. After soaking, drain the water completely and squeeze the wheat to remove excess moisture.

In a large bowl, combine the drained kibe wheat, ground beef, eggs, cilantro, green onions, mint, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Mix the provolone cheese cubes with any additional desired seasonings.

Take portions of the kibe mixture, flatten them in your hand, place a cheese cube in the center, and then close and shape them into kibes.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the kibes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve hot with mayonnaise or other dipping sauces of your choice.
