Dough Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour/wheat flour
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Topping Ingredients:
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 200 g (about 7 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 calabrese sausage, sliced (or substitute with pepperoni)
- ¼ onion, thinly sliced
- Oregano to taste
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the olive oil and gradually pour in the water, mixing until you get a smooth and elastic dough.
Lightly knead the dough, divide it into two equal parts, and roll each piece into a flat disc to match the size of your skillet.
Heat a nonstick skillet over low heat. Place one of the dough discs in the skillet, cover it, and let it cook for about 3 minutes, or until the bottom sets.
Flip the dough over, then spread tomato sauce over the top. Add shredded mozzarella, sliced calabrese (or pepperoni), and onion. Sprinkle oregano on top to taste.
Cover the skillet again and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, until the cheese melts and the bottom is golden brown.
Remove from the pan and serve hot as a quick snack or dinner.
