Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Heat over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, then add the all-purpose flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and let the dough cool slightly, about 5 minutes.

Add the eggs, one at a time, to the dough, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop mounds of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each puff.

For the cream filling, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until stiff peaks form.

Once the puffs are cooled, carefully slice the tops off and fill each puff with the whipped cream filling using a piping bag or a spoon.

Place the tops back on the filled puffs and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Serve immediately and enjoy these delectable Cream Puffs as a delightful treat for dessert or a sweet snack!
