Ingredients:
- 1 cup (100g / 3.5 oz) cocoa powder (50% cocoa)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup (200g / 7 oz) sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml / 8 fl oz) whole milk
- 1 cup (240 ml / 8 fl oz) oil
- 2 cups (240g / 8.5 oz) all-purpose flour/wheat flour, sifted
- 3 eggs
For the Syrup:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted margarine
- 1 cup (200g / 7 oz) sugar
- 1 cup (100g / 3.5 oz) cocoa powder (50%)
- ½ cup (120 ml / 4 fl oz) whole milk
Directions:
Start by adding the eggs, milk, oil, and sugar to a blender. Blend until you get a light cream consistency.
Add the sifted flour alternately with the cocoa powder, blending after each addition.
Add the baking powder and mix gently with a spoon.
Transfer the mixture to a greased and cocoa powder-dusted baking pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 35 minutes. Let the cake cool slightly before removing it from the pan.
For the Syrup:
In a saucepan, add all the syrup ingredients. Stir well and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it boils and thickens.
Pour the warm syrup over the cake. Let the cake cool before serving.
