These homemade cake fillings are perfect for layered cakes, birthday cakes, and bakery-style desserts. They are creamy, flavorful, and very easy to prepare.
Nutella Cake Filling
Ingredients:
- 1 cup hazelnut spread (Nutella) (about 300 g / 10.6 oz)
- ½ cup heavy cream (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
Instructions:
Place the hazelnut spread in a bowl.
Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
Pour the hot cream over the hazelnut spread and stir well until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
Let the filling cool completely before using it in cakes or desserts.
Strawberry Cake Filling
Ingredients:
- 1 tray fresh strawberries, chopped (about 300 g / 10.6 oz)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (395 g / 14 oz)
- 1 carton heavy cream (200 g / 7 oz)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (10 g / 0.35 oz)
- ½ cup milk (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
Instructions:
In a saucepan, dissolve the cornstarch in the milk.
Add the condensed milk and heavy cream and mix well.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the cream thickens.
Remove from the heat and allow the cream to cool completely.
Add the chopped strawberries and mix gently before using as a cake filling.
Powdered Milk Cake Filling
Ingredients:
- 12 tablespoons powdered milk (about 120 g / 4.2 oz)
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk (790 g / 28 oz)
- 2 cartons heavy cream (400 g / 14 oz)
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine six tablespoons of powdered milk with the condensed milk and heavy cream.
Mix well and cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
Remove from the heat and add the remaining powdered milk.
Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Transfer to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap touching the surface.
Let it cool completely before using in cakes.
