Meal Prep: Seasoning Paste
This homemade garlic and onion seasoning paste is a powerful, budget-friendly kitchen staple that saves time and boosts flavor in everyday cooking. Perfect for meal prep, this easy blender seasoning recipe keeps fresh ingredients ready to use and helps create restaurant-quality dishes at home.
Ingredients
- 2.2 lb onions (1 kg / 35.3 oz)
- 6 whole garlic heads (about 300 g / 10.6 oz peeled garlic cloves)
- 1 cup vegetable oil (240 ml / 8.1 fl oz)
- 1 tablespoon salt (18 g / 0.6 oz)
- ½ bunch fresh parsley (optional) (about 30 g / 1 oz)
- 1 bunch green onions / scallions (optional) (about 100 g / 3.5 oz)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
Peel the onions and garlic cloves. Roughly chop the onions to make blending easier.
Step 2: Blend until smooth
Add the onions, garlic, oil, salt, parsley, and green onions to a blender. Blend until you get a smooth, uniform paste.
Step 3: Store properly
Transfer the seasoning paste into sterilized glass jars, seal tightly, and store in the refrigerator at 35–40°F (2–4°C).
