Recipe ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (about 400g | 14 oz)
  • 2 large potatoes, cooked and mashed (about 500g | 17.6 oz)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese (about 20g | 0.7 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (about 4g | 0.14 oz)
  • Salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley to taste

Filling:

  • 150g cheese of your choice (5.3 oz)

Instructions:

Start by gathering all the ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, mashed potatoes, egg, grated cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, and baking powder.

Mix everything really well until it forms a dough-like texture.

Take small portions of the mixture, flatten it slightly in your hand, and place a piece of cheese in the center.

Close the dough around the cheese and shape into balls or patties, depending on your preference.

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the rice balls until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm with mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauces.

Recipe ingredients: 1 cup (120g / 4.2 oz) of all-purpose flour/wheat flour 1 egg 1 tablespoon (14g / 0.5 oz) of butter ½ cup (120ml / 4 oz) of milk Salt to taste 1 teaspoon (5g / 0.18 oz) of baking powder Filling Suggestions (to taste): Shredded chicken Cream cheese or soft requeijão Sliced cheese (You may also use ham, vegetables, or your favorite ingredients) Instructions: Prepare the batter: In a bowl, mix the egg, milk, and melted butter until well blended.
