How to make breaded fried chicken thighs
An incredible and very crunchy recipe for your meal. Remember that we’re going to start by listing all the ingredients, so start by separating out all the ingredients and then the complete preparation method.
Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Preheat a large skillet or frying pan with about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You can also use a deep fryer if you have one.
In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the breading mixture.
In another shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour.
In a third shallow dish, beat the eggs.
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
Dip each chicken thigh into the flour, coating it evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
Next, dip the flour-coated chicken thigh into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well-coated.
Finally, coat the chicken thigh with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs. Repeat the process for all the chicken thighs.
To check if the oil is hot enough, you can drop a small piece of breadcrumb into the oil. If it sizzles and starts to brown, the oil is ready.
Carefully place the breaded chicken thighs into the hot oil, skin side down. Be cautious to avoid overcrowding the pan, as this can lower the oil temperature.
Fry the chicken thighs for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Use tongs to carefully flip the chicken thighs halfway through the cooking time.
Once the chicken is cooked and has a crispy golden exterior, remove it from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Allow the fried chicken thighs to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve your Breaded Fried Chicken Thighs with your favorite dipping sauce or side dishes.
