Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 g / ~8.5 oz)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (4 g / ~0.14 oz)
- ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk (105 g / ~3.7 oz)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (113 g / 4 oz)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml / ~0.17 fl oz)
- ¼ teaspoon salt (≈1.5 g)
- Optional: sugar for sprinkling
Directions:
1 – Preheat and Prep
First, preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Then, line a glass baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
2 – Mix the Dry Ingredients
Next, in a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until they are fully combined.
3 – Cream the Butter and Condensed Milk
After that, in a large bowl, beat the softened butter until it becomes creamy and light.
Then, gradually pour in the sweetened condensed milk while continuing to beat until the mixture becomes smooth. Add the vanilla extract and beat briefly again.
4 – Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Now, slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in small batches.
Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold everything together. The dough should be soft and just slightly sticky.
5 – Shape and Arrange
Next, use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to form small dough balls.
Place each one on the glass baking dish, leaving about 2 inches of space between them. Sprinkle sugar on top, if desired.
6 – Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes. The edges should turn lightly golden while the centers remain pale and soft.
7 – Cool
Let the cookies cool in the glass dish for 5 minutes.
Then transfer them to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
